Community
Vigils

Every year, Nu Trans Movement organizes community vigils to honor Black transgender women who were victims of hate crimes and violence. These gatherings bring together community members, allies, advocates, and families to grieve, remember, and recommit to the fight for safety and justice.

Our vigils are spaces of mourning and resistance — where we say names out loud, hold candles in the dark, and refuse to let these deaths be forgotten or dismissed.

November 20 — Annual

Transgender Day of Remembrance

The international day to memorialize those lost to anti-transgender violence. Nu Trans Movement holds vigils in Texas and New York.

Throughout the Year

Community Vigils

When a member of our community is taken, we gather. We do not wait for a designated day to say their name.

Ongoing

Advocacy Actions

We turn grief into action — attending legislative hearings, demanding accountability from law enforcement, and pushing for policy change.
