Nu Transgender Movement, Inc. is a non-profit organization focused on enhancing the health-related quality of life for BIPOC transgender and nonbinary individuals in Texas and New York. We are committed to facilitating the acquisition of identity documents that match an individual's gender identity and assisting clients with navigating long-term gender-affirming care. Thanks to our efforts, nearly 200 individuals can access life-saving GAC and feel empowered to apply for housing and employment with new matching identity documents.

Our program, which focuses on name changes and gender corrections, caters to the marginalized BIPOC Transgender and Non-binary communities of Texas and New York. Sadly, services that benefit this underserved community are under threat of being banned in multiple US states. We offer supplementary resources to support those who may lose access to existing services.

Established in 2014 by a passionate transgender activist, Initially, the organization conducted community vigils for Black transgender women who were victims of hate crimes and provided safe sex work kits to low-income areas of Dallas, where BIPOC transgender women and nonbinary individuals primarily reside. Today, our organization has expanded to serve the entire TGNC community in Texas and New York, providing services such as Identity Document Correction, Cultural Competence Training, Referrals, and Peer Support.
